Classically fantastic. This place is the perfect example of a New York standard. The burgers, true to form, are in the category of one of the best in the city, along with the fries. Basic steakhouse staples like wedge salad are all excellent, and they have top-notch seafood, including a raw bar with freshly shucked oysters. they actually have a separate wait staff for the raw bar offerings. At any given time, you will find 50% tourists in the dining area, but still a staple of locals at the bar. This is largely due to the midtown location, and the fact that this place was featured regularly on "Mad Men." Still, I'd rather eat here than J.G. Mellon where they only take cash. A real can't-go-wrong spot.

I had 2 orders of French fries and a Chicken Caesar Salad. The French fries were super delicious. But the chicken Caesar left alot to be desired. I was expecting an actual salad, but they basically give you 4 thick (and really dry) chicken slices sitting on top of some cabbage. Not good at all. They charged me $23 for the so-called salad, plus $13 for each order of fries, and $12 for a vodka and soda. My tab came to $61. I was so unhappy. The waiter was very fast and professional and the atmosphere was good. So 1 star for the waiter, 1 star for the delicious fries, and 1 star for the atmosphere. But -1 star for the prices and -1 star for the bad salad. This place is for high net worth, upper class people with money. Don't come here if you earn a modest middle class living.

One of the few notable NYC restaurants that boasts its history and excellence simultaneously. The best quality beers on tap and unbelievably welcoming service from every single staff here. What a breathtaking decoration, not to mention, and the foods are stuffing both your stomach and soul.

it was great. Good to get away from the tourists in Times Square. Old fashioned pub and diner. Met a lovely New Yorker lady who recommended things to do. Good food and good service.
